Graciela was honored to serve the attendees of the Texas Association for Bilingual Education (TABE) 2016 annual conference in Galveston, TX as the keynote speaker on Oct 20, 2016. Her presentation celebrated her life as a globally mobile bilingual professional in military service and in a wide variety of industries and entrepreneurship, and included una ola (a wave) de éxitos (of successes) of highly-educated, bilingual professionals in her network to bring the conference theme to life. Teachers can use these stories of yesterday's ELLs to showcase to students (and reluctant administrators) WHY being bilingual is so valuable in our 21st century, global, multicultural economy.
